Apple has officially announced the dates for its next Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), which will take place from June 9 to 13, 2025.
As in previous years, the event will be primarily online and free for all developers, with a special in-person experience hosted at Apple Park on June 9, reserved for a very select group of invited guests.
What to expect at WWDC25?
As every year, WWDC will be an opportunity for Apple to unveil major upcoming changes to its operating systems. Developers can specifically look forward to the introduction of iOS 19, which, according to multiple sources, is expected to feature a significant user interface overhaul. Some observers describe the new look as “glassy,” featuring rounded and translucent elements inspired by visionOS—the system that powers Apple’s virtual reality headset.
In addition to iOS 19, major updates are also expected for macOS, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS. The goal seems to be further unifying the user interfaces across Apple’s devices, which could represent the most significant visual update in years for the company’s platforms.
True to form, Apple is also expected to release an early developer beta of iOS 19 immediately following the event for those eager to test it out.
Finally, while WWDC is primarily software-focused, several rumors suggest we might see a major hardware announcement—possibly a new Mac Pro powered by the all-new M3 Extreme chip.
Artificial Intelligence and anticipated improvements
This year’s conference will inevitably place a strong emphasis on artificial intelligence.
Following the lukewarm reception of Apple Intelligence at last year’s WWDC, Apple may use this event to unveil significant improvements—particularly a more powerful and advanced version of Siri, potentially driven by enhanced AI capabilities.
Online event and interactive sessions
Developers will be able to follow the keynote and all sessions through the Apple Developer app, the official website, and the Apple Developer YouTube channel. Video sessions and online interactive labs with Apple engineers and designers will allow attendees to dive deeper into the announcements and get technical guidance.
Apple will soon share more details about the event via the app and the official WWDC25 website.
